 Albert Einsein named his violins Lina. In 2018 one sold for $518,000.
It was made by Luthier Oscar Stegar who played in the Harrisburg Symphony.

Artur Schnabel was the first pianist to record all 32 Beethoven Piano Sonatas. Between 1932 and 1935 he recorded them at the Abbey Road Studios in London.

The Pianos at Heinz Hall are all  built in New York. Carnegie Mellon University has one Steinway D built in Hamburg. The differences are pretty significant according to David Andersen in his article:

One of these two New York Steinway D’s will be chosen by Emmanuel Ax in the coming days or weeks to be the new concerto piano for the PSO. They sit in the fourth floor rehearsal room awaiting the final showdown which will take place on the stage of Heinz Hall.
